Nice of them to support as they did but... a bit dull. Seemingly very little in nicer parts of town or the 'picturesque' places. Good race for beginners. Ample loos. Park and ride was good. Organisation good. Medal and tshirt ok for a 10k. Goody bag, which people raved about previously, was... hmmm. A gingerbread man, some frijj drink (no thanks) and some bloody horrible sausage rolls. Oh well, I've done it now. I shan't bother again.

The event closest to where I grew up and a good turnout every year. The event tend to sell out quite quickly so you have to snap up your entry. The race is one big loop, taking in the town centre and some country roads. It starts and ends on the school playing fields. There are things to do at the start for families and plenty of viewing points around the course. There is one short steep hill towards the end which is a nice little challenge. I ran a good PB at this race and the nice weather made the day a good family day out. Already signed up for 2023

Great atmosphere on course, well supported and Marshalled!! The goodies and bling are really good, with extras at the end too once race finished ❤️. Highly recommended and I will return. Only downside was the lack of stuff for families but that didn't take the shine off a good race.

A brilliantly organised event with plenty of free parking in the town close to the start. Number/T shirt collection was easy with the queues going down quickly, the event village had everything you could need with a great atmosphere, well spread out around the sports field. The Biscoffi fudge cake from cakes a daisy was well scrumptious. There where plenty of races for the children of all ages , there was a delay to the starting of the 10k race but this wasn’t a major problem just shows the organisers have the athlete’s safety first. The race itself is a lovely course to run nice and flat till around 7K then it’s undulating with a bit of a testing hill towards the the end, the local people come out to make this a very well supported race all the way round adding to what is already a great race . The start and finish is on grass of the school’s sports field bringing back memories of those heady days of PE lessons. The goodie bag is definitely one of the better ones in fact it is exceptional and this event is well worth the entry fee. I would highly recommended this Race.

With a later start time of 11am, gives plenty of time to get gongs sorted the morning of the race. We arrived at 8.30am and found super easy to find the parking facilities and plenty of spaces. Really easy picking up numbers from the sports hall and enough ports loos with fast moving lines. The start was delayed 15 mins and couldn’t really hear the briefing over the tannoy. First and last few 100m on the field with bulk of the race being on closed roads. The first 5k is fairly flat with the second half being a little more undulating. Great support on the roads from locals, supporters and volunteers. Great goodie bag, medal and tshirt at the end too!

Easy navigation and well marshalled. Locals come out in droves with extra water stops, sweets and hosepipes (always hot this weekend).

Glad to see organisers listened to the cracks in last years event and the kids race was a lot safer and better organised.

Only downside was the children’s and adults medals for mixed up by goody bag sorters so my 5
year old was disgruntled until we managed to swap it.

The race was well organised for such a large number and they had a brilliant event at the school to entertain everyone.
Loved the medal! Loved the yoghurts and hubby pleased with the pork pie! Only downside for me was giving tee shirts out at the start as I run in club vest but I had daughter there to carry it.
The parking was fine, coach’s were running constantly and plenty of them.
Brilliant event for fast runners and also first timers. Already booked for next year and Tash doing it too!

Heard so much about this race and the fact that it's won best 10k for 3 years running so was really grateful when I was given a place by a running friend.

Arrived at 9.30am to a long queue to get the car parked. A park and ride scheme was in operation and to be honest it worked really well. Just had to be patient while they tried to fit all the cars into the liverstock market grounds used for parking the cars. Plenty of buses available.

Got to the school grounds and the place was buzzing with lots of stalls, tents and activities already going on. First priority toilets! These were split between Ladies and Gents, that was a first. I'm sure the Ladies appreciated that though. Initially the queues were small but when the warm up session was on they were really long!

Talking of warm up sessions they did a really great session, three ladies on the main stage getting pretty much most of those in front of them motivated and working up an early sweat.

The start. Oh dear .. no funnel .. pacer flags just stuck in the ground at what seemed like random places. No flag for 45 mins pacer neither. It was a kind of stand anywhere and once the race gets going just head for the start line. I'd call that very disorganised.

However, once the race got underway this disorganised mass of runners seemed to politely, in most cases, walk\jog to the start line and we were off! Once around the school playing field and on to the roads.

Must say that the people of Market Drayton really take this race to their hearts. They really were out in force offering unscheduled water stations, showers and jelly babies to everyone. One row of bungalows even had bunting and flags out as the owners sat out in the sunshine cheering everyone on. Termendous! Never had this in any other 10k I've run. The people of Market Drayton were so generous.

The course you think is flat and up to about 7km it pretty much is, howver after that it gets a little undulating! Some pretty steep downhill sections followed by uphill too. The last hill up to the town was a bit of a killer but after that its all on the flat to the school grounds.

Once in the school grounds it was pretty much a straight line to the finish where you were presented with a bottle of water, goodie bag with medal, a tray of Muller yogurt and a pork pie. T-shirts were collected before the race. Pork pie was VERY tasty.

The weather was kind, the people of Market Drayton oh so kind and the race was very good. Definately one to try but be quick as it sells out oh so quickly. Think it has something to do with yogurts maybe!
