I enjoyed this race and I think with a few tweaks to the course it could be a very good addition to the race calendar.

Nice busy race village but really long queues at the bag drop and there didn't seem to be that many volunteers helping.

Particular plus points before the race were Susie Chan inroducing it and chatting to Sally Gunnell and Colin Jackson and the live band who played us down to the start, and were still playing when I finished.  The course itself was a bit mixed: pretty flat, some scenic bits once we got out of the town centre and great for a close view of the planes flying just over us on one bit.  For parts of the course it was very narrow and it was really difficult being caught behind a tightly packed pacing group with no obvious way past.  If they continue with the same course that needs addressing.   Not a lot of local support - but it is new race.  The marshalls were, however, really enthusiastic, so that was great, and the BA sponsorship seemed to work well.  The finish was a bit odd - there was a hill and then a sharp turn and we were there, so no real opportunity for a sprint finish.  I wasn't even sure I had finished until Susie Chan said my name - so better flagging of that so people can time their final burst for the line.  Goody bag of medal, nice tee-shirt and lovely buff - happy with that!
