← Oldbury White Horse Sprint Triathlon

I've marshalled the event in the past, this year was my first attempt as a competitior. After a great off season with training going to plan, Oldbury Tri was the perfect way to start the summer events. A sunny (hot) day, made for a great atmosphere at the race village. Everything was easy to find and the marshals were very helpful. The race breifing was clearly communicated and easy to find and despite being in one of the latest waves, everything was running perfectly to time, even down to the second.

A 400m pool swim and a short run along the path to the first transistion area and we were off on the bikes. Taking in the stunning Cherhil downs, the oldbury white horse and the Lansdowne Monumnet on an out and back route, this has to be one of the most spectaclar bike courses in the region. Back to the leisure centre and the transition area before a very warm, fairly flat 5km run around the villages surrounding the town.

A great medal and quick results, followed by a selection of food and drink on offer made this a fantastic event and one that I would definately look to enter again next year - Highlighly reccomended!
