Home town marathon.

They made a significant couple of changes this year for the worse.

1. Moving from the bag drop from the arena to the stadium not good. Then stadium concourse was to busy and left it cramped to get to the bag drop where it was nice and open to only runners in the arena before.

2. Receiving the medal while walking up the steps on the terraces towards the bag drop. After finishing a marathon steps are not the most welcoming!

the route was the same as previous years so no major hills but by no means flat. My main issue this year and last was a water station after mile 20. I’m sure it’s roughly 3m per station but after 20 it is 24+miles. However, the weather was particularly hot and the organisers had allowed for plenty of water.

the stadium finish is brilliant and gives an instant boost every time and is worth entering for that alone.

will more than likely enter again next year, hopefully a bit cooler!
