Postives

The Liverpool Half Marathon is a great route and race.

Event bibs are posted to you in advanced and if you sign up late you can pick up in the morning - so extreemly easy logistically. Start is near the Albert Dock and very close to a merseyrail train station that has lots of park and ride options.

The course is fantastic, out of the city to go through Princess Park, then a lap of Sefton Park and back along the waterfront. The whole run has a enjoyable and chilled feel.

Negatives

The event is linked with the 10miler, which means when you're at mile 6.5 you are joined by 10milers at 3.5 (they cut out those 3miles to reduce their distance to 10m). This means at this point there is a lot of overtaking/dodging of slower runners, mild gripe but at 6.5 miles you're in your flow and cba with dodging again.

Oh and of course...the course was 400yards short for 2018, never in previous events here though! Flagged up by everyones GPS (mine read as 12.78 miles) and confirmed by organiser the day after. It was due to road works changing usual course but they have confirmed for 2019 they will use an external measurer - so not a reason not to do this race.

Extras

The t-shirt wasn't great, plain white with small logo. I'm sure I'll wear it but not as nice as in previous years. Medal and goodies all very good.

Extra extra The organisers had an agreement for all runners to have a free day pass at a nearby gym - this was brilliant! Very easy too, just sign up on gym website and use the code. Gym facilities were great too.
