← Twin Lakes 20

As a previous participant of the Bedford half I thought this would be a great event to take part in, and as I was in training for Brighton and MK Marathons I thought 20 miles would be a great distance beforehand.

A lot of runners from my club were taking part so it was a no brainer. Finishers t-shirt and medal were included.

Race packs sent through the post if registed in advance.

On day of race the race village was easy to get to once parked up, and well set up, added bonus of coffee van which would also take cards, and the chance to buy merch if you wanted it. The ususal toilet queues.

Marshals on course outstanding, and I was allocated enough time before a sweeper bike was sent out to keep up with me. Being at the back I was not expecting a lot, but was plesently surprised with the support from the other runners and marshals and locals along the route, and everyone stayed until the end. Eventually I caught up, and passed the other back runners and managed a decent time and received a warm welcome. The marshals and supporters stayed for the last runners to come through.

Would I do it again next year? Hell yeah!! even if I am not running a marathon.
