← London Landmarks Half Marathon

As with many of the big city events the LLHM isn't cheap, but if you want to run around the historic parts of London and don’t mind paying a bit extra then this is definitely one for the diary. For me signing up was quite straight forward information prior to the event was very good with numerous email updates and a very useful event guide. The bag for use at the bag drop was good but really could have done with a label to stick on it corresponding to your race number. The actual start of the race was a bit chaotic, there were no actual pens so different pace runners had got mixed into different waves, pacers were released into the various waves meaning at 1 point i had a 2Hr pacer in front but a 1.45 behind me. The route itself winds its way around our capital, in places it’s a bit twisty with a few switchbacks and is a bit narrow in places. The historic points information boards were great as were the various characters dotted around. The crowd support was excellent as was the overall atmosphere, the water stations were well managed and well positioned. The finish was well managed with the medals  being handed out by the Chelsea Pensioners and Pearly Kings & Queens. the finishers medal was of good quality and quite unique and the race shirt issued pre race is well designed and good quality. All in all its a great event and for its first year it was well planned and well managed, few things to resolve for next year but nothing major, will definitely do it again.
