← St Annes 10 Mile Run

Marathon training plan said 15miles this week so signed up to Lytham 10 Miler and planned to get there early and run and extra 5 miles to warm up then pace my wife to her first ever 10 mile run.

Timed the warm up perfectly and got back to the start line at 10:59, time to find my wife and start the run. Wait no one was there!! Have they left? No........the start line was moved 200m away from last years event. Started to run towards the start line and then suddenly 1000+ runners were heading towards me. Managed to step aside and wait for my wife to pass them joined in, I made up the 100m difference at the end of the race. This wasn’t a chip timed event so no worries there (although I was disappointed about no chip timing)

This was an out and back Course along St Anne’s promenade so we had the wind slightly with us for the first 5 miles then against us for last 5miles although we ran faster on the second half of the race?
