← Essar Four Villages Half Marathon

The organisation, setup and marshalling at the event was superb. Particularly at the end when every finisher was literally freezing and there was a cabin for free hot drinks and as many biscuits as you would like.

The course was brutal, particularly miles 8-10 but the rest of it wasn't bad at all. It is a shame the weather was so rough as I imagine more people could have PB'd and also more people would have  turned out to support. Support was very thin around the course, but the bravery of the marshalls in such conditions was sensational. I am ecstatic I finished with a new PB, but I am not sure I would do the race again entirely based on the time of year, and how hard it was miles 8-10.

The drink stations were ok, but it is hard to run with cups of water/juice and not bottles. I struggled. I was surprised to see that the drink stations were only every 4 miles as opposed to 3 which I  have become accustomed to.
