Overall this was an enjoyable day and a very well organised event. The cycle route was great and the marshalls were friendly and helpful. The run was a more challenging course than I expected but again was very scenic and the marshalls were great. The aid stations were well stocked and it was nice to see paper cups instead of a huge number of plastic waste you see at other events. As per alot of other comments the water quality for the swim was awful, I did wonder how it has managed to pass any kind of testing. It made the swim very challenging as you couldn't see any other swimmers and kept knocking into each other. It also meant you couldn't get into a great rhythm as you had to bring your head up a lot to see where other people were and where there was space. A little disappointing that spectators have to pay. And my husband said from a spectators POV he enjoyed the day and the set up but there was only one vendor selling water and they sold out early as it was a hot day. He also couldn't find anywhere to fill your own bottles which was a shame given the temperatures.

We are, however, sorry to hear your concerns regarding the swim conditions. We take water quality and swimmer safety extremely seriously, and all venues are required to meet the relevant safety and environmental standards. That said, we appreciate your comments about visibility and congestion in the water, and this will be reviewed with the Race Director and safety team to see how we can improve swimmer spacing and navigation in lower-visibility conditions. Thank you also for your comments regarding spectator access and facilities. We understand your concerns about the availability of drinking water and refreshments on a hot day, and we will review provision in the spectator areas to ensure this is better supported in future events, including more signage to water refill points.
