I completed this event in 2016 on my own, this year there were 4 running and 5 spectators.

There are plenty of facilities in and around the event to keep the family entertained whilst the runners are running and a table was booked at a restaurant for post run stories and celebrations.

It was a very warm day and the water made available before the start was very welcome. The spectators also enjoyed getting seats in the stadium to get some rest and some shade.

The route was changed slightly from last year but the highlight was going to be the finish line of the Olympic Stadium?

I was slightly underwhelmed when we arrived at the stadium, three quarters of a lap of the warm up track before running underneath the stadium to emerge on the back straight with only 80m of the run on the actual track.

Those who had not run this before still though the finish was great. It way improve again next time as there was lots of work on the track to make it ready for another event.

It is still a well organised and great 10K with a good finish
