A local race down at Barry Island. two options to race.

Lots of parking available close to the race and free. Only a really short walk to the start/transition. This is a new race and group setting up some local races with this Aquathon the taster before 2018. Registration was easy, transition was very much a help yourself to a spot against the wall on the promenade, a little unfair if you were slow to grab a spot.

Race briefing needs work for next year and the 2018 season but the counted people onto the beach & had paddle boarders/canoe's out on the swim course. The tide was pretty strong so hard going on the swim.

Big thumbs up to the organisers they allowed people who signed up for the Long to switch after 1 lap of the swim due to the struggles. Athlete focused :)

Couldnt get lost on the Aussie exit swim due to large flags and people waving at you. Certainly enough staff on the beach.

Run course was quick, out on the promenade, over to the heath and loop back above the promenade and back around. Locals were happy to move out the way when running, it was quiet Sunday so not much trouble. Lots of marshals to show you the way so no chance of getting lost or taking the rong turn.

A really nice, local event. Its their 1st and they said they will run more next year. I will race some next year as it was fun. Things to work on but im sure it will improve with time. I had a chat about the course and they are happy to take on suggestions.

Thumbs up from me
