← Kew Gardens 10K

getting to Kew was a challenge and directions from station weren't clear so many people simply followed other people dressed for a run. This meant we were all walking the wrong way. Once back on track the few directions were very out of the way and we were having to run to the start. We were on time to join the final wave but marshalls had taken down the start pen signs and were shouting that we have 5 secs or we don't start.  They actually started the final wave early. I started and made up good time considering I needed to negotiate the walkers in this final wave. The location was stunning which meant we also had time afterwards to look around. The course was very scenic and didn't involve much looping back on yourself. It was a single lap race which is my favourite as you saw something new all along the route. The previous waves obviously had more water stops as there were empty bottles in one location and some people were unfortunately scrambling around on the ground looking for some bottles which still had water in. This was quite sad to see. The marshalls were friendly and the finish was good. Super medal and t shirt. Only criticism is that the final wave would always be consisting of bigger people as they were the walkers and and walk run people, yet at t shirt collection some of the marshalls handing out t shirts were quite rude when they had run out of larger sizes and telling people it will have to fit when they put it up against them as it's all that's left .. that seemed rather insensitive for those people who probably don't run regularly and would have been proud to have worn a t shirt showing their efforts. However all said, I would do the race again but little tweaks are needed
