← Bacchus Marathon and Half Marathon

This was the most fun I've had at a race. I definitely recommend not taking it too seriously, coming with a team of friends and dressing up. This attitude made for a very fun day out. Other runners, marshals and even the surprisingly large amount of spectators were all very friendly and supportive and added to the fun atmosphere.

the course is hilly and thanks to rain muddy in places but was a beautiful route through the woods and with nice views over the north downs. It did come up quite a bit short though.

The wine stations were great and the live music really made the event fun. It was disappointing the band at the last wine stop wasn't performing. The snacks en route were limited and running out when I passed by, I was in the second wave so there would have been many yet to come. The snacks I did get were quite fancy- cake, duck roll, sausage roll, mini pizza- however there were very few vegetarian options.

The hog roast with live music at the end was fun, would have been more fun on a sunny day but there was plenty of seating both inside and out.

The medal and shirt are both good quality and a nice design. Registration, bag check etc. Was all simple and straightforward.
