← Kimbolton Half Marathon

Finding a Half Marathon relatively local during August is a difficult thing to do. I put out a shout on Twitter and was told that Kimbolton Half was in August so signed up straight away. The price is really good and you get a tshirt & a medal.

The route is along country roads, which aren't closed so no headphones allowed and there were marshals constantly patrolling on motorbikes keeping an eye out. I'm not a headphone runner so it doesn't bother me but it was the first race where I didn't see a single person breaking the rules. Water stations were a good distance apart and they always had a good supply of water. I liked this race, couple of hills but once your over the biggie at mile 11 it's mostly flat to the finish.

Would I recommend this race..yes, nice t-shirt, lovely medal and not expensive.

My only negative is that you are given the finishers T-shirt at the start of the race. This meant that you either had to walk back to the car or put it into the baggage drop area. I decided the baggage drop area was best as I needed to join the loo queue.
