Great event. My first full distance triathlon and what a great choice. So glad I went local instead of a more ‘household’ brand. Easy to register and rack the day before which sped up things on event day. Jumping off the pier was fun and well managed, and the swim was easy to navigate (some current but mostly with you). Bike course was interesting enough given it was 3 laps - enough elevation changes to not be a constant slog but no real big climbs until the end. Maybe a bit lonely on laps 2 and 3 when everyone doing the half disappeared but one of the moto riders pulled up alongside to check on me which was good. The aid stations are very sensibly spaced and well stocked. Run course is flat and fast and ideal for all abilities - as with the bike course there were well spaced aid stations that were well stocked and plenty of enthusiastic marshals which really helped get me through. (Not to mention plenty of visitors wandering around as well) Great finish line experience and generous food / recovery provisions too. Can’t recommend this one enough, especially at the price.
