966m of ascent according to my Garmin, slowest ever half (2h37 vs PB of 1h36 !!!). Lots of walking.
Great cameraderie on the course, outstanding marshalling and feed stations - soooo supportive !
The briefing was unique, nay eccentric, with the Race Director doing the briefing in what looked like Union Flag underpants (he assured that they were running shorts !), complete with a rendition of the National Anthem - I have never come across that before ! And then into the fray of those hills - so many, and so many steps (the Eiger steps is a give away).
Loved it, once home with a cold beer ! Will definitely do it again.
