← ATW Grafman Middle Distance Triathlon
Might be my new favourite UK based 70.3. The swim was a bit hectic as it was quite choppy but the two laps mean you have some time to gather yourself as you re-enter. Bike course was a blast but you have to be conscious (as we most other races) you are on the open road with other cars and a few junctions to navigate but there are plenty of marshalls and signs. The run is very simple and easy to hold a fast pace on the flat tarmac along the lakeside, however the grass part of the run (probably 1.5-2km) is a bit tricky as there were some dips/holes which could cause a nasty ankle roll if not paying attention. Overall, it’s a really well run event and great for spectators who have access to the cafe and toilets instead of the usual food trucks and portaloos.
