← Offerton 5

The Offerton 10k was my second ever race back in 2006. It obviously left an impression as it's taken 11 years  for me to return despite it being on my doorstep!

It's a multi-lap course taking in the flat Woodbank Park and the not-so-flat Vernon Park in Stockport, starting and ending at the Woodbank Stadium track. Essentially there's one hill, which you do three times, and it doesn't get any better each time!

The organisation was well executed with race number and chip all collected at the clubhouse. Race breifing was clear and it all started roughly on time (despite a very heavy rain shower 10 minutes before it all started).

Marshals were everywhere, you'd have a heck of a job to get lost on the route.

At the finish a medal was handed out (as per the invite). In addition there was a goodie bag with a few items from last year's Stockport 10 race - drinks bottle, T-Shirt (mine's a 2014 one!), sweatband, notepad and a flapjack sailing perily close to it's BBE date! For £12 it's a good value event. But be warned it's not a stroll in the park!
