← Sheffield Half Marathon

If you know Sheffield, you know it is hilly and this course doesn't disappoint. The previous incarnation of the Sheffield Half was an awful course run through the industrial areas of Sheffield in order to be as flat as it could be in a hilly city. This new race embraces the hills and the scenery that they offer.

It isn't a route for the faint hearted as the first 6 miles or so are one continuous hill of verying degrees of incline, and just as you've had enough of hills the sign appears "Welcome to the King of the Hill section"! Thankfully what goes up must come down, and therefore the latter half of the race has fast descents.

Support on the course especially around Ecclesall Road and Ringinglow is legendary and the people of Sheffield come out in their droves to support the runners, making it a party atmosphere. As usual on Run for All races the goodie bags and T-shirts are good, and organisation is excellent.

If you are willing to train for the hills to enjoy a party atmosphere half then this is for you.
