← Cakeathon Spring

Gosh, I loved this event!! It was well organised, everyone was super friendly and the course was actually really nice.

I'm not really a "laps" person but for this type of event it works really well. Each lap was 3.75 miles, and was a mix of tarmac and trail. After each lap, you get your tag punched and its upto you whether you finish or continue on with the race!

The race HQ was small but had everything you need - drinks, cakes and toilets. The race director gave everyone the race briefing at the beginning and that was that. We were free to run as much or as little as we wanted and eat as much cake or as little as we wanted in the 6 hours the event was open for!

Everyone involved in the organisation of the event was really friendly and helpful! There weren't too many runners out on the course at any one time, so we didn't really disturb any pedestrians or other users of the park.

My friend and I both brought homemade cakes, and the selection at the event was amazing!! Trophies are handed out as part of the cake awards, which adds an extra element of fun to the day.

The medal is amazing, and the goody bag is full with goodies is the form of crisps, chocolate and cider/beer!!

I think it's definitely worth trying an SVN event, there's loads on offer if Cake isn't the thing for you!! I'm looking forward to trying a few more in the future!
