Registration was straight forward with regular emails and Social Media updates in the build up.

On the day the start was easy to find and parking was easy (although carpark machines didn't accept new coins).

The start was a little chaotic and there were no half marathon pacers slower than 2 hours. The initial run is through the town was on closed roads which was nice, then it was into.the sticks. Much of the run out if town was along the pavement and as the 10k runners were on the same route it did get rather crowded. Once in the countryside the field thinned out although care had to be taken as the roads/paths were not in the best condition.

Marshals were friendly if a little sparse. There were some testing hills and a brutal headwind. To be honest I found the route somewhat boring and with little or no support you really had to dig deep just to keep going. However as with many smaller events my fellow runners were very friendly and supportive. The final mile was a welcome downhill into the carnival field and the finish.

Nice medal and ok t-shirt although it would have been nice to have different medals for the 10k and half, although I realise it's a small event and such things cost. One gripe I  did have at the finish was that your bags were just left in the open with no supervision or checks to make sure it really was your bag!

Overall it was a run with good company, but not one I'll be in a hurry to do again!
