This is a small club organised run which takes place almost entirely within Porthkerry park - this made pre race logistics include number pick up stress free. The start did remind me of school cross country all lined up on a field with a taped course. Apart from one downhill section this course is all off road, there are two enormous hills which most of the field walked up and a really nice touch was that every tree root and rock had been spray painted red for visibility. The course is very narrow in a couple of places though which could have been frustrating if you got stuck behind someone slower. Whilst there was almost no crowd support there were loads of supportive marshals and the course was really clearly marked out. The race was chip timed and times and photos were posted online shortly after. You got a nice well fitting tech tee with number pick up and the water, apple, flapjack and ice cream voucher at end making £12 race entry excellent value for money. Will definitely do this one again!
