This was a last minute sign up for me, it was on my "potential" race list for this year, but waited until end of April to sign up because I already had 2 races booked in for May. As it's local to me, and runs through a beautiful park, I decided it was worth a go!

Race HQ was easy to find, and everything was well marked out: registration, late sign up number collection, bag drop etc. The only fault with the set up was the queue for the number collection tent for late sign ups was really long and seemed a little unorganised, especially when you compare it to RunThrough races, where the number collection for all participants runs smoothly. Other than that, bag drop organised by Kelly's Storage was really easy, the queues for the loos weren't too long and the race routes (there was also a couple of shorter fun runs as part of the day) were checked before each race to ensure these were safe for all participants.

The race itself was great, the route was partly on pavement, partly on trails. KM markers were clear, as were the route arrows and the water stop was well placed. As this race has a loop which is repeated twice, you get 2 water stops.

The route is a more hilly one, but rewarding all the same!! Support on the trails is essentially the odd passer-by's/park users but when you are in the main park (for the start and end) there is a huge turnout of local support, and those who have taken part in the fun runs earlier in the morning.

After the race, there is a selection of treats from bananas, oats bars and sweets to reward yourself, plus you get a medal! Bag collection was as seamless as the drop off, and there were a few food and drinks and charity stalls to wander around in the race HQ. A great local race overall :).
