← AJ Bell Great Birmingham Run

The route has been changed, with the hill now removed from the course and the finish moved from Broad Street to Millennium Point, meaning a more out and back route but more importantantly a faster course.

With the set up being one of music eras (00s,90s,80s etc) rather than time waves it is difficult to ensure you are in the right section of your wave. I joined the challenger wave as was aiming for a PB and had to weave past a few people at the start despite getting quite close to the front of the wave.

Course is good for an out and back, nice to run through Cannon Hill park, and lots of support out on the course, nice that you can see other runners coming the other way on the out and back sections.

It attracted a strong line up from the elites and the finish area was nicely organised with meet up points so you can catch up with everyone easily enough.

Only downside was an issue with the baggage buses, one had broken down and they had moved half the bags from one bus onto another bus and while mine hadn't switched bus, my bag had been moved from one side of the bus to the other meaning a good 10 minute search for my bag!!

Overall a good event and I'll be back next year!
