← Thirsk 10

Numbers are collected on the day for this race. On arrival we were directed to the number collection point which was exceptionally well organised with no queues, despite around 1000 runners registered.

There were good facilities pre race at Thirsk racecourse, lots of toilets, a hot drink and breakfast wagon, and a stall selling running gear.

It's a 10 minute walk to the start and we were taken round together.  The start is  very cramped for the size of the field, it's on a country lane and probably six abreast is all you can get. I found this tough to weave my way through slower runners to get to my normal race pace and my first km was significantly slower than usual.

Great marshalling throughout the course, and excellent water stations providing bottled water.

Not too keen on the section running on the side of the A61 as not easy to overtake other runners due to keeping into the side of the road.

Fantastic t shirt and results displayed on the wall very quickly after you finish.

Overall exceptionally well organised race but due to the nature of the course I dont think I would run it again, but others loved it. Just not to my psrticular taste.
