← MK Festival of Running

This was my first time running the half at MK Festival. As a pacer I didn't need to get involved in the registration process. It was a grim day, and I'm glad I didn't have to go to the one tent The had outside in the car park. It was actually a real shame, with a real lack of a race village.

the start was not well organised so runners started wherever they like, many far too forward. But this soon evened out so not an issue.

it was actually a really lovely route. I expected it to be run on roads, but it was all on pathments and took us past some beautiful scenic areas. The weather was also good, which I didn't expect with the heavy rain right up to the start. This rain also flooded the first underpass, and we had to wade through it, I could have swam through it was that deep.

the finish was on a hill, but other than that the course was flat. Water at aid stations in a bottle, egotistical always good.

the end was a bit disappointing too with a medal, banana and bottle of water being the extent of the goody bag. With no race village there was no point waiting around.
