← Montane Trail 26 & Trail 13 Grizedale Forest

This is one of the most stunning races I've run yet. The location within Grizedale Forest sets a stage for a race on fire access roads, muddy trails and paths through open moorland.

To say it undulates would be insignificant, you are up and down like a rollercoaster, but you wouldn't want it any other way.

Incredible views at every turn, even with the low cloud cover, I spent as much time taking photos as I was running-I must stop doing this!

Marshal cover was present, but limited. We passed a marshal at mile 4, feed station at about mile 9 and the photographer somewhere between the feedstation and the finish! I think 2 to 3 more posts are necessary.

The feedstation wasn't brilliant, by the time we arrived (last position) there wasn't much on offer, good job I was carrying enough of my own supplies.

What did I love about this race? The location and it was way-marked! What didn't I like? The medal-its too small! A minor criticism for an amazing race, but ace bling matters!

I'll be back to race another Montane Trail event, probably Howgills for a contrast in scenery.
