← Portland Coastal Marathon
This was my first trail half marathon and I am happy to report that it was a great experience. Everything from the moment I drove into the large, free, well marshalled car park through to showering afterwards at the excellent sailing academy facilities was top class.
The race itself was not for the feint hearted. A big climb in the opening 2 miles certainly let you know what was coming on what was at times a very technical course. Lots of ups and downs, some of which were very steep so you had to be concentrating 100% at all times.
The half was a great course but I don't think I'd have fancied the full marathon which was 2 identical laps of the same course.
Great value for money too with a very nice medal, a buff and a nice technical t-shirt waiting for you on completion.
Would happily do this event again.
