← IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia

I did this race in 2015 (read the review here) and loved it so much that I came back for 2016. It was fantastic before, but with a few improvements  for 2016, I can say that it was virtually faultless. Considering I race all over the world, saying that this is hands down the best organised race I have ever been to is a bold statement - but it's true.

Every element of it is so well organised - it is completely slick. This year, they moved the whole expo to the beach/port area so everything was close by and in one place (a big improvement on 2015), and they moved the finish line so it was on the beach - absolutely loved this, made for a really special finish to the event.

The swim course was changed slightly so that the exit was far nearer to transition (it used to be a LONG run) which made for much quicker transitions.

They also changed the bike couirse so it went into the nature reserve and was only one lap instead of two (which meant a more scenic course and much less drafting/congestion on the course).

What's more, along the bike course, they had HUGE digital screens which gave live updates on the weather and also alerted to any warnings that may need to be given to athletes. I have never seen this in any race before and think it was an extremely impressive touch!

Any improvement that could have been made - the organisers made it, and this went above and beyond any race I have experienced anywhere in the world.

I would race this without question - I loved every aspect of it. The weather is ususally good, the course is brilliant and fast (I got a PB for the second year running), the organisation is impeccable and what's more - it's cheap, quick and easy to get to!
