Having given birth just 4 months previously this race was the perfect incentive to get back to running! I had previously completed the marathon on two occasions so was looking forward to seeing what the half marathon route entailed. 

A very detailed race briefing brochure arrived ahead of time which was very useful and made for a simple registration-simply turn up and run! The race briefing was straight to the point, just how we like it, after all who wants to stand around at the start?! Toilets were plentiful and clean, a real bonus in my book! The course was picturesque with plenty of quiet lanes as well as off road, well maintained tracks.  The last hill was a killer, not quite so enjoyable as the pre covid finish but gave us something to conquer and I think Tim and the team did an excellent job of managing and creating a super event in what must be an organsiser's nightmare -the pandemic. Race HQ was buzzy yet relaxed and friendly, again another reason why this event is a must in anyone's calendar and I must mention Alton Sports who provided a great value, excellent and much needed post race massage. Re-usable cup, re-usable coffee cup and Alton Spring water on tap were great touches and I never tire of Hoppit ale. This race will always be in my diary.  Thanks to all involved :)
