← Silverstone Half Marathon

This was my first half marathon and I was half excited but half worried because I was injured.   I probably shouldn't have run but I did.

The car parking to get in and out was a nightmare.  Not enough marshals in the car parks especially as we were leaving.

The bagging areas were well organised.  It was easy to get my bags in and out.

There were a lot of people in the area before the start and the toilet queues were horrendous.  However once we got through to the starting area it was fine.

Anyone could start anywhere so it was a bit crowded at the start and there were people walking within the first mile which didn't help. However the track was wide enough for people to overtake.  I managed to PB my 10km time so I was ok there.

Plenty of water and lucozade stops on the way around with big open skips a little way after so it was easy to dispose of the bottles.

The track itself is a bit boring as there's nothing to look at but it's one lap which does make it better.

Goody bags were a bit naff.  The t shirt was not a technical top which was disappointing.

Already booked for next year, it's a great one to do if you're running VLM.
