← Lets Run Rhyl 5 Mile, 10 Mile & Half Marathon

Amazed really that this race went ahead as another of those big storms came roilling in and a bad weather route was planned which used roads rather than the promenade for most of the run.

Registration was in the lifeboat station which was a little cramped as people were trying to keep warm and shelter from the wind which was up to 45mph at times.

for tyhe out section we had our backs to the wind so every gust pushed us on that little bit quicker. Unfortunately at the turn around point at Prestatyn, Pontins Holiday Camp, you knew the wind would be head on. It actually wasn't to bad until the route took us on to the sea front with about 2 km to go.

The wind was really strong and at times almost took my legs from underneath me, but i battled on. Once in to the finishing straight the wind literally carried you over the line.

Great medal which this year is part of a set of three which will make up a coaster.

Well done to all concerned because even with the strong gale force winds it was still a great run!
