Excellent pre-race communication from the organisers who kept us updated the week before on Facebook as flooding had the potential to cancel the event. Thankfully, the race went ahead as planned and on the intended route. The course is mostly flat and offers PB potential - it's a great warm-up race to do if you're doing a spring marathon. There's not much in the way of support, just a couple of pockets of spectators. There are, however, plenty of water stations so you'll never be gasping for a drink. Issues? A couple: 1. The starting area is inadequate. There is insufficient room and some runners have to perch on the embankments/ditches. It makes for a very congested start. 2. The goodies at the end is quite poor. I don't need another T-shirt, but maybe a banana or flapjack? A medal and a bottle of water is a bit stingy! Otherwise, a great race and one I can recommend to all runners of all abilities.
