Have run the Great Scottish Run half marathon twice.
Living in Glasgow it's great to run your 'home race'.
The best part of the GSR is definitely the support - Glasgow is one of the friendliest cities in the world and it shows here.
The course starts and ends in the city centre which makes transport really easy.. It's not the most exciting course but does take in a few sights. The hill at the start on St Vincent Street is one of the few there are, so don't worry too much about this.
The medals aren't great and it can be quite expensive, but it is a Great Run event so the goody bag is pretty decent and you get lots of discount vouchers.
Another great one for beginners.
