Quite pricy for a 10k, but worth doing at least once for the outstanding views. Registration is at Bamburgh Castle, then buses take you to the start line on Beadnell beach. Most of the run is on sand, with a small section through Seahouses before back on the beach, although you do run over rocks which can be slippy.
The years I took part, you finished back in the grounds of the castle, so you need to keep some energy in reserve for the hill back up. There are also half and full marathons, plus an ultra on the same day, all starting at different points but finishing the same place so there is something for everyone.
The Northumberland coast is one of the most beautiful places to run, and this is no exeption.
