Incredibly well supported by the Cal Poly Students who volunteer, this race would be a nightmare without them there to motivate you onwards. I thought I was pretty well prepared for this course, but the volume of climbing both on the bike and heinous hikes/runs up slopes had my legs in disarray. Cant say I liked having to run after the swim, but I understand the logistical problems they have, and it was a nice swim location. It is a unique race experience and one that I will definetly be back for another crack at. However, I wont register until the amnesia of nasty grade kicks in. That was not fun at all.
