← Brass Monkey Half Marathon
Popular race, need to be up early on day entries open to get in.
Based at York Racecourse, easy to get to and lots of parking.
Area inside main stand to meet friends and prep for race. Good this year as it was drizzly first thing. Bag drop there too.
Race goes straight out on to the rural roads out of York. Essentially an out and back with a big loop in the middle. Only realised I was back on the same road right near the end.
Not much local support on the route but loads of supportive and encouraging marshals.
No medal or the usual long sleeved T-shirt this year but a decent metal water bottle as a race souvenir.

A flat and fast course ideal for a PB attempt. I got a new PB by 2 and a half minutes!
I’d recommend the race especially if you want to go for a quick time.
