← Liverbird Double Day Marathon day 1
Liverbird Marathon is a 1 or 2 day marathon(s) event which takes place on New Years Eve & New Years Day. What a way to end the year, and start the new one.
As marathons go, it's all very basic with no razzmatazz and no frills.
What you do get is a friendly race which is as near to the complete charity event as you can get.
Entry fee is paid by making a donation to a Virgin Giving page, with all the funds split between 2 great charities.
The start line is a red hat - literally. Route consists of 4 out and backs along river Mersey. Paths are decent.
The 4x lap course makes it mentally quite tough, if you allow it.
There is an aid station every 3.3miles or so.
Finishers receive a lovely medal.
There is also the option to enter the following day's marathon.
In summary- Great event (I did BOTH days).
Very basic but also cheap to enter and it's great to know you're supporting 2 charities.
I did very much enjoy this event.
