This was a brand new race that adds to the event organisers existing runs from Hullavington. There are now distances from 5k to half marathon and next there will also be a full marathon!

I was volunteering on registration before I ran, so I'm inclined to say that it was a wonderfully smooth experience!

The briefing was clear and funny and we all knew we were running on open roads and to be careful. The route was was marked and all marshals were helpful and dressed as Santa to add to the experience. 

At the end, you dipped into one of Santa's sacks for a gift, some of which were medals, race entries and chocolate. I picked up a High 5 water bottle filled with gels and post race nutrition. I'm not bothered that I didn't get a medal but I know that others might. 

There was free cake at the end and I chose to have lunch in the pub afterwards which definitely filled a corner. 

I'd definitely recommend this race for a great festive atmosphere and to give you an excuse to eat more over Christmas!
