My first and probably my last time at this race.
Upon arrival we parked and found out that there was a £3 parking charge, it would have been nice to have this in the race details letter.
There seemed to be no signage from the car park to the race start (unless I missed it).
The bag drop was just a patch of grass, no cover and all seemed a bit lame.
The race started all a bit on the quiet despite a PA system about. At the same time as my race they had a fun family run, all fine until we had our second lap when the finish area and aid station for the fun run was on the right and the aid station for the main race was further up on the left.
I can only recall 2 marshals on the whole course, when you cross the finish line you are faced with a free for all. Grab a Christmas pudding, grab a drink and a mince pie. No advertised Mulled wine and when it comes to the medal, well just help yourself. I would not be surprised if they would have ran out by the end of the race.
I had heard so much about this being a great festive race but it all seemed a bit of a money making race but cutting the overheads and skimp on the festivities.
