New Orleans 70.3 takes place in one of the friendliest places you can visit! The city is rich with diversity and filled with character; it's well worth booking a couple of extra days to explore. The  French Quarter and the WW2 museum should definitely be on your list.

After the obligatory pre-race prayers (all US races have this) the event itself takes you firstly into a 1.9km sheltered fresh water swim, which is easy to navigate and is usually wetsuit legal.

The 90km bike is flat and fast. Be prepared for some bumpy roads however: make sure nutrition/spares are secured well to your bike, and you have pretty new tyres on! The course is very well marked and the roads are closed to vehicles. 3 aid stations means they are quite spread out so just ensure you carry generous hydration with you.

The half marathon run can be a hot affair, along the sea front and back. With aid stations every mile you are well looked after and the support is great.

As no element of the course is multi-lap, it isn't the best for any support club you bring as they won't see a great deal of you. However, the finish line has a party atmosphere from the off, that will help with the long gaps.

I'd thoroughly recommend this race.
