I've done Glasgow a few times now, a good half and certainly one worth doing.

It starts right in the centre of town in George Square before almost immediately heading up a straight hill at Argyle Street (good to make sure you don't head off too quickly!). You then cross over the motorway, quite a fun opportunity to run on a motorway!

The route then takes a slow run out to some of the parks on the southern side of the city. This is perhaps the hardest part of the route with some fairly quiet stretches as well as some pretty tough terrain with some muddy bits and speed bumps.

Once the hill at Bellahouston Park is done you head back in to town along Paisley Road West, this is perhaps my favourite part of the route - a long, straight, flat road with plenty of support. The route then crosses the iconic Clyde Eye spending the last mile and a bit alongside the River Clyde and finishing on Glasgow Green.

Their are a few water stops and fuel stop about 8/9 miles. Interestingly the fuel stop had Cliff Blocks rather than the normal gels.

Overall this is a pretty good and reliable half, although it does suffer from some of the "big corporate race" atmosphere that a lot of Great Run events have.

In summary if you want a solid performer for an autumn half marathon I would happily recommend this race.
