← The Maverick inov-8 Original Somerset
A tricky one this. I loved the route, loved the scenery, loved the runners and as always the Maverick team were excellent. Overall I had an amazing morning. However a few bits to note...
- The road we had to run across twice is busy, like really busy.
- The only toilet at the start broke an hour before the race and refuses to flush... eek.
- A local farmer was very irate and his cows very upset by us charging through the field and started removing signs and sending people the wrong way (this was mile 2)
- It was advertised as 10km. I have learnt to take Maverick distances with a pinch of salt but I clocked 13.3km which meant my pacing was a little shot.
On the last point I would’ve happily as signed up if advertised as 13km, just would have paced differently.
I will be signing up for a bunch more Maverick runs next year, they are fab.
