I began my running goal back in April and stayed on track doing daily 5k runs around Devizes to get fit and to remember how to run and breath at the same time once again. I entered the Devizes 10k back in the middle of August and did not know what to expect as I had never competed in a race before. I trained well and hoped, well at least aimed, to beat sub 60.
The race day came and I loved it, the course was hard but well laid out and it was very professional from the start. The other runners were very supportive and friendly and the spectators really encouraged all runners.
It was very well organised by LPS team and marshalls and thankfully with the other runners pushing me I just managed to beat my goal and came home at 57 mins.
If you live in the Devizes area and want a goal next year I highly recommend the Devizes 10k as a great target to for.
