← Queensgate Fun Run

Another small and friendly race on the Isle of Wight.

This one is organised by the PTA of Queensgate Primary School to raise funds.

Very easy to register online, or as I did this year just turn up on the morning and fill in a form.

It’s not very often you get to run through the grounds of Osbourne House (Queen Victoria’s idea of a static caravan at the seaside), so the route definitely has that extra something.

It also has a little slope or two, so not a PB course!

A revised route this year, which was very slightly short at 9.6 miles, but some amazing views to take in, so can’t grumble.

Well marshalled, regular water and jelly babies and a nice bit of bling at the end.

A mixture of roads and trails, so definitely a race with something for everyone.

Not chip timed this year but as it’s a small, local Fun Run the couple of folk with stop watches were more than up to the job. My “official” time was the same as my Garmin!

This was my second Queensgate 10 and it is definitely a fixture in the IOW running community calendar.

See you there next year,
