← Cider Frolic & Piggy Plod

White Star Running events attract a 'hard core' of support who book because it is a WSR event! Why?

Rural > off-road > hills >often (like the Cider Frolic) on mainly private land - a cider farm!

  • Excellent medals; nongeneric.
  • No bs goodie-bags(sic): Frolic = medal, squeaky pig, bottle of the cider farm's product and a packet of Dorset biscuits
  • Free photos
  • A club feel; stopping at the Love Station ™ and chatting with others
  • Camping! Festival feel.
  1. Scores of tents
  2. Camper vans
  3. Burger van
  4. WSR now have a catering van
  5. Bar (marquee)
  6. Cleverly on the 12 hour events there are relay teams so the start/finish is always busy. Marquees + people chatting + children

WSR have had an irritating (IMHO) - as an outsider (sic) - not young, or in a running club, not particularly social - of being a little LAX on distances etc of the runs. However that seems to have been addressed .

Cider Frolic had timing chips > showers > portaloos > plenty of fresh drinking water

I  recommend this event and say you should give any WSR run a try if you haven't as yet.
