The registration process is easy. You take a QR code & Photo ID to collect your race bib. I think it would be easier if the registration is open a day before the events start & later in the evenings over the weekend.
The half marathon starts in Pembroke & heads along the coast towards Tenby where it finishes. Such a beautifully scenic half marathon. The half marathoners get to cheer some of the elite marathoners on before joining the rest of the marathoners on the route. There’s a really relaxed & fun vibe. There are also options to enter 10k & 5k.
The course is undulating, but the support from local residents and marshals is brilliant & really spurs the runners on. At the halfway point, the 10kers join the route but cheer us first.
I ran with water in my hydration vest, but if I hadn’t, I’m not sure that the cups of water would have sufficed, especially as it’s often a warm day because of the time of year.
When you arrive in Tenby town, the atmosphere is buzzing with excitement & you can hear the roars from spectators as you approach the finish line. There is no finish line like it for a half marathon. You get the red carpet finish, just like the iron man finishers. It’s an incredible & I can’t recommend it enough.
