← Shrewton Bustard Off-Road 10K

I got invited to see what Shrewton 10k had to offer by a fellow racecheck member.  . On arrival you are met by many smiling Marshalls helping you park up and sending you to the check in and bag drop. It's around 500 metres from the carpark .Once there you greeted with more very welcoming people out to help you. Before the start you can get hot and cold drinks and food for family while they wait for you to get back. The call is made 10 minutes for the start of the race.  There 10 second count down before the fireing of a Canon that rings out around the hills and make you jump. Make sure you been to the loo when that happens 🤣🤣 You off one lap of the Cricket ground out on to the main village road. You head to your first hill which isn't bad but long to get you on the flat road to Larkhill . Around 2 k ish you take a left this road has fantastic views over the Wiltshire countryside. There also a chance to see the army out training in there tanks. One more left turn on to one of the  roads the tanks use .The road has some big pot hole but this make it more fun. 5K you have Shrewton running club and marshalls making sure we all  ok out  there with water sweets and more. The next 3 k is much the same great country  road with a nice run down hill to the 8k mark where with abit of a smile the marshalls say good luck. This is when you see a nice test for the legs a hill off road , I didn't find it to hard but it was good to get to the top. The award was you get a nice steady run down hill to the the Cricket ground. Once around back to the finish with everyone cheering  you on . You handed your medal  with a well done water ,milk and more sweets and snacks..  if you back you can clap and cheer other's  in from the club house where they do the best cakes. Always good after a race. I would most definitely go back next year and hopefully more #visorclub members will join the four of us who went.😁👍
