I ran Comrades 2018 (Down run) and finished so wanted to return.  Unfortunately I didn't manage to complete 2019 Up run - basically I was too slow, just made the cut off after 67km done and then 3km later, knew that makign the next cutoff or the finish inside 12 hours wasn't going to happen.  The hills were just brutal!  However, the event does not disappoint and once again the crowds, the support and the whole experience was memorable.

Amazing atmosphere throughout, loads of aid stations, every km is marked etc etc.

I've marked down the organisation a bit as the finish area (which we were transported to; but my friends experienced as finishers) is really chaotic.  Marshals were friendly but not well briefed, crowds not managed (there was nearly a crush in the tunnel  to get across the course) and getting food was very hit and miss.

BUT - don't let that put you off.  Everything else is amazing.  I hope to be back again in 2020.
